I have the honour to confirm my telegram of

the 23rd instant, copy enclosed, and to forward copy of a

letter from the Un-official Members of the Executive

Council on behalf of the whole of the Un-official Members

of both Councils advocating the appointments of Mr.H.H.J.

Gompertz and Mr.J.H.Kemp as Attorney General and Puisne

Judge respectively, together with copy of the reply I have

addressed to them.

As you are already in possession of full

reports by me on the qualifications of these officers for

promotion it is unnecessary for me to address you further

on the subject.
